“This is the portrait of my once-upon-a-time lover’s father who was a maharaja, a «great king». My friend was also a maharaja because he lost his father when he was 13 years old and inherited the title, although these official titles were abolished in 1971. I was inspired by a beautiful black-and-white picture.”
