The city of Geneva hosts the International Conference of the Red Cross, an important event for humanitarian cooperation on a global level. The countries of the European continent sign the Treaty of the European Economic Community (EEC), a significant step towards the economic integration of Europe. The miniskirt is born in the United Kingdom from the inspiration of Mary Quant.
